Island Travel Inn
As we continue with our hotel reviews from our recent trip through Northern USA and Canada, we now look at our stay in Victoria. Victoria is a beautiful city, it is also the capital of British Columbia. Situated on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, it is the ferry gateway from Seattle and Port Angeles.
We arrived via ferry from Port Angeles, Washington. Our accommodation for our 2 night stay is Island Travel Inn, Douglas Street. Located on one of the main thoroughfares of Victoria it is a leisurely 18 minute walk to the harbour. It is comprised of three floors with four types of room choices, ranging from $99 through to $139 per night. Island Travel Inn has a wide varied of food choices within a 5-8 minute walk to cater to all taste palettes. Bookings can be made via Bookings.com.
Island Travel Inn Review
We elected to stay at Island Travel Inn, due to its location, price and reviews. However, with reviews that can vary from 5 stars to 1 star, so this can be a fickle way to choose.
We went for the standard King room, which had two king beds, which was located on the ground floor. That was nice, as there were no stairs to navigate. The room itself was spacious, clean and seemingly well maintained. It had all the amenities we needed in the room, fridge, coffee maker, air conditioning and free WIFI. The pillows were not too hard or too tall. The seats in the room were very comfortable and free parking was available. I always like to check the water pressure of the shower and how long the hot water lasts. Here at the Island Travel Inn they were both good.
There is also a guest laundry however there was only one washing machine and one dryer. Thankfully there was nobody using it when I needed to do our laundry. The staff were helpful and friendly. On the downside, the beds were too hard for my liking, some of the lights didn’t work and there was some street noise as well. Overall, we found our stay at the Island Travel Inn to be very comfortable and very affordable. If we were to visit Victoria again, we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Long time supporter, and thought I’d drop a comment.
Your wordpress site is very sleek – hope you don’t mind me asking
what theme you’re using? (and don’t mind if I steal it?
:P)
I just launched my site –also built in wordpress
like yours– but the theme slows (!) the site down quite a bit.
In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching for “royal cbd” on Google (would appreciate any feedback) – it’s still in the works.
Keep up the good work– and hope you all take care of yourself during the coronavirus scare!
Hi Justin,
Thanks for you comments. The wordpress theme is Divi from Elegant Themes. Cheers Andrew
