Boondocking Timmerman Junction Rest Area
Traveling the north west states of America over the last month and a half, we realize how lucky we are to be isolating in our RV.
COVID19 has closed many National Parks and other tourist location we had planned to visit. However, this has opened other destinations that we probably would never had considered visiting. We have been fortunate to see amazing waterfalls, beautiful vistas and tranquil camping spots. Places that are off the beaten track, not frequently visited by your normal short stay tourist.
While boondocking Timmerman Junction rest area is not surrounded by amazing scenery or tranquil flowing water, it accomplished a need. That being a night’s free stay before heading to Boise Idaho and what was supposed to be our house sit for the next 2 weeks. However, COVID19 has put a halt to this. Is this a good thing, is yet to be seen.
Review
Boondocking Timmerman Junction rest area is located on Highway 20. 100 kilometres south east of Arco and 235 kilometres east of Mountain Home Idaho. There are plenty of parking spots for both cars and trucks, which stop here frequently.
Restrooms, shaded picnic tables and chairs, a grassy area and vending machines are available here. AT&T signal was good, allowing us to stream Netflix and surf the internet. The parking lot was relatively flat, though we did need to level Cup Cake a little bit.
While the rest stop is positioned on a crossroad there was very little noise during the night. We felt relatively safe here with a police car making a check in the afternoon (not sure if that is good or bad, lol). Overall, boondocking Timmerman Junction rest area while it is nothing special it does provide a safe, clean free overnight stay.
